Here in this post, we will discuss strategies to achieve any realistic goals.
The goal should be defined based on career objectives. Your career objective should be defined based on your vision.
Ask yourself these following questions (to know your vision) and note your answers:
- What do you want to do in this life?
- What will make you happy?
For example, X wants to pursue engineering as a career, X’s vision is to teach underprivileged students. Helping others makes X happy.
X will define goals to be an engineer and make time to help students.
Goals can be short-term, medium-term, and long-term. Short-term goals are set towards long-term goals.
For example: Suppose a student wants to be a successful Lawyer, that is the student’s long-term goal. To be a successful lawyer, the student first has to get admitted to a good law school, then earn a law degree and practicing license.
The student Goals will be as follows:
- Long-term goal: Successful Lawyer
- Medium-term goal: Get a law degree and practicing license.
- Short-term goal: Crack law university entrance exam and get admitted to a good law school.
Splitting a long-term goal into many short-term goals help keep track of progress, it will help you not to deviate from your goal. Short-term goals should be very clear and achievable within a few months or a year and middle-term goals should be achievable within a few years.
Short-term goals will help you focus on important things and not sway away from distractions.
Life is full of ups and downs. Don’t expect things to be easy. There will be a time when you will feel like giving up on your goals and find backups.
But you should hold on to your goals, and prepare to face the hardships. There should not be a time when you will lose sight of your goals. You have to believe in yourself and the invisible helping spirit near you.
Nothing happens without a reason, trusting the time and keeping your focus on goals is the right way to achieve goals.
Embrace failure as a learning lesson and celebrate success with humility.
There is no alternative to hard work and constant learning.
Don’t procrastinate. Do things on time, or even ahead of schedule whenever possible.
Time is precious, every fleeting moment should be spent towards achieving your goals.
Live your goals.
Plans for the resources that you will need to achieve your goals. Resources can be the lodging cost, foods cost, tuition fees, college fees, books, travel expenses, digital devices, and other stationery expenses.
Make Quarterly budgets and sources ahead of your resources.
